Have your say on how £1 million is spent in East Finchley

By Dave Speck in Local People

Are you a resident of Barnet’s Grange area and do you want to have a say on how a £1 million lottery grant is being spent in your neighbourhood?

The Grange Big Local, the partnership set up to spend the cash, is looking to elect a new board of up to 17 people at its annual general meeting (AGM) next month.

The AGM is also a chance to find out how some of the cash has already been spent since it was awarded last year.

Meanwhile, Grange Big Local has appointed Finchley landscape design firm Space Place Design, on Regents Park Road, to carry out an “environment strategy” for the area, and residents ideas are being sought as to potential projects.

To give your views please fill out the online questionnaire at www.grangebiglocal.org.

The £1 million grant is being paid in instalments over ten years and is set to improve not only The Grange estate, but also the nearby Font Hills and Thomas More estates. It is earmarked for projects ranging from training opportunities to children’s play facilities.

The AGM will take place on Saturday 17 June 17 at 2pm at St. Mary’s Parish Centre, 279 High Road, N2 8HG. Residents can put themselves forward for election to the board, and find out about other ways of volunteering, by visiting info@grangebiglocal.org or phoning 020 8364 8400 ext 241.
